Welcome to the home for GCH Seaworthy’s Secret Weapon, affectionately known as Tank. Tank showcases the best of the Portuguese Water Dog breed combining intelligence, affection, loyalty and beauty in a fun-loving playful package. Tank began his career at 6 months of age by winning Best in Sweepstakes at a USSPWD Supported show. He went on to win several Majors and earned his final championship point while handled by his 12-year old junior handler. Tank earned his Grand Championship at eighteen months of age in three weekends winning all majors under the outstanding handling of Nicole King. Tank continues to compete and win at the Best of Breed level as a Special.
Tank is owned by Ann and Greg Giles of Birmingham, Alabama and was bred by Cam and Ron Salvary of Seaworthy Kennels in Lake Eufaula, Alabama. Tank’s sire is GCH Driftwood’s Call Me SexSea who was the #3 PWD in the United States for 2007 and 2008, won multiple Awards of Merit, and was ranked in the Top Ten from 2006 through 2009. His dam is CH Driftwood Fantasea Beach Girl.
Tank is a striking Irish marked PWD with excellent bone structure and impressive head as well as a lush, full twirly coat. Tank measures 21 ½ at the withers and weighs 62 pounds.
When not in the conformation ring, Tank is training in a variety of other disciplines. Tank recently placed 2nd in Novice A -agility at the National Specialty in 2011 and 1st in Novice Jumper with Weaves at the Birmingham Agility Trial. Tank is also training in tracking, water work, and herding and plans to compete in these venues in 2012.
With all his achievements, Tank’s highest calling is as friend, companion and playmate to his human family. Tank is a rollicking playmate in the backyard, in the pool and definitely at the lake where his natural athleticism allows him to enjoy all forms of water activities including canoeing, tubing, boating and retrieving.
Tank has had all heath testing and is rated Normal and/or clear for GM-1, OptiGen, JDCM and CERF. His hips are “Good” and his elbows are “Normal”. His health record is available at http://www.offa.org and at the PWDCA Health and Litter Database. Tank is available to stud to approved bitches.
